Spartan, but clean, comfortable and well-maintained room. Ms. Yager was friendly and helpful, with a wry sense of humor. (The website could be up-dated, since it lists continental breakfast as a service, but Covid has shut this down.) A stone's throw from an historic bridge across the Mighty Missouri River, and on a street with many historic and well-preserved (although repurposed) buildings. Interesting photos, documents, paintings of historical significance deck the walls and corridor. You'll never get down the hall without getting snared by some historical rabbit hole.

Great location, amiable owner and quirky digs. We stayed here for two days-off from a hot summer fieldwork project and spent the bulk of our time hanging out at the hotel (pandemic times limit what's open in town). The room we stayed in felt more like an apartment with a queen bed, table area and bathroom on the main floor and two long twin beds in the upstairs loft area. Can't beat the location, has fridge in room and communal coffee/microwave, as well as coin-op washer and dryer. Good shower & beds. Proprietor is definitely a hub for the community and has a pleasant outdoor seating area in the shade for chats and watching the river across the street. Will definitely stay here again if we're passing through.

After a long full day of cooking and serving it was nice to come to a spotless room and everything we needed was ready! Definitely the best place to stay in town! 100% satisfy! To begin with the owner Suzie is a hoot! What a great gal! The hotel is a treasure and and the history of this building is unique. We had the Lewis and Clark room and it was very clean and comfortable. It was great sitting out front on Main Street with a view of the river running past just a stones throw away, waving to and talking with the locals and passerby’s who stopped to look over the classic cars our group drove into town. It was a great experience and we all agreed we would stay there again.

Friendly, funky, fun... walking distance to everything in Ft. Benton. Accommodations are clean, spacious and, well... 'unique' would be the word. The view from the "living room" is fantastic. The price is right. The owners are happy and helpful. Recommended.

Had a great night before putting our canoes in the Missouri River. Quiet and welcoming accommodations . The owner, Susie, is friendly and interesting! She loaned us umbrellas, when we headed to dinner and it began to rain and even offered her car.

Pioneer Lodge is the perfect location for your stay in Fort Benton. Nice, quiet rooms with a front sitting area facing the Missouri River. Stay inside and out of the weather with the view. Or, step outside and sit with friends, make new friends and just take in the air and scenery. Susan is an excellent host, and has a lay of the land as far as viking the sites. A grest stay!!

Great place to rest. Quiet, clean, comfortable, down to earth. Each room has its own character. Nice owner and the Pioneer has a great history of its own. Had to stay at the other hotel in town, the GU, for a night. It was more than twice as much as the Pioneer and I didn't get much for it. The GU has a "no outside alcohol" policy, which I guess explains the lack of a fridge in the rooms. No microwave either. The Pioneer at least has a shared microwave to use.
